Where are you located?

We are located in the historic village of Fayence in the Var region, South of France. Cannes, Nice and St Tropez just a stone throw from our base. Go to the "where are we based" page for a detailed map of our location.

Why book with 69 Campers?

69 Campers are a limited company registered in France our details are SARL rufus trading as 69 campers Capital de 8000€ RCS Draguignan 478 526 965 APE 7711A To operate a vehicle rental business we hold all of the appropriate vehicle insurances including Responsabilité Civile Professionnelle, Protection Juridique (Public Liability and Legal protection).

Where can we leave our car when we pick up the Camper?

We have a secure site which is free to use but entirely at your own risk. We can also arrange pick up from local train stations or airports. Contact us for more détails and tariffs.

How many people does the Camper van sleep?

You can sleep three people in Gigi, our Split Screen, and between four and five in our T2 Bay Windows. All the Campers can legally carry four or five people, see the Camper description for more information. Awnings and tents can be hired if additional accommodation is required.

Where can we go?

The classic T2 Campers (Splitscreen & Baywindow's) travel is limited to the following regions: 06 Alpes-Maritimes, 83 Var and designated areas of the regions: 13 Bouche-de-Rhone and 04 Vaucluse. Contact us if you need any advice for your travel plans. ANY charges relating to the recovery of any vehicle from outside the stated regions will be at the charge of the client.

Is the mileage limited?

Classic Campers T2 (Splitscreen & Baywindow's), yes the hire includes 750km per week or 125km per day for shorter breaks. Extra kilometers are charged at €0,50 per km. The VW California hire includes 2000km per week. Extra kilometers are charged at €0,30 per km.

Can we install child seats?

Yes, the Campers are fitted with 3 point inertia seatbelts allowing you to safely install child seats. You can hire a child seat or booster, see our list of optional extras.

What equipment is included in the Camper van?

Everything plus the kitchen sink! There is a ¾ Rock ‘n’ Roll bed (plus a double bed in the pop up roof in our Bay windows), fridge, 2 x gas burner hob, sink, cooking utensils, electric hook-up cable, camping table and chairs, solar shower, CD/radio with iPod/iPhone connection, pillows and duvets. Should I bring my own bed linen?

It is entirely up to you. Pillows and duvets are included in the Camper hire but the bed linen is not. If you prefer not to bring it with you, you can hire bed linen, towels and sleeping bags from us. Please refer to extra’s list.

Where can I park the Camper?

Due to its size, you can park the Camper van pretty much anywhere. By being just over 2m high, you are able to use many sites restricted to other camping cars including parking next to the beach in some areas. You can also use traditional camping grounds with all the facilities they offer. Please see Visit the Area for some ideas on where to stay.

What security deposit is required?

The security deposit of €2000 is made up of two parts, €1500 on a credit/debit card and €500 cash. €1500 will be authorized but not debited on a Visa or MasterCard, please check your credit card limit with your bank. A cash deposit of €500 is also payable and will be returned to you upon return of the Camper on the understanding that the Van meets all the requirements within the Terms and Conditions.

What methods of payment are accepted?

We accept Visa, MasterCard or you can pay via a bank transfer.

What time can I pick up and drop off the Camper?

The collection time for the Vehicle is 16h00 to 18h00 on the start date of the hire period. The return time is strictly between the hours of 08h00 and 10h00 on the agreed day of return.

What do I need to bring on pick up day?

When you come to collect your Camper van, the driver(s) will need to fill out a hire agreement, leave a security deposit and show a valid driver’s license and proof of address. We will need to see all the passenger’s passports and you will need to carry out a vehicle inspection. Please allow up to one hour for these formalities.

Is there a minimum rental period?

There is a minimum 7 day rental during high season (July – August). For all other enquiries, do not hesitate to contact us.

What does the insurance cover?

Insurance is part of the cost of the rental and includes fully comprehensive insurance. Each driver must be 23 years old and have held their license for a minimum of 3 years. All of our Camper vans are provided with 24 hour Roadside Assistance.

Can I bring my pet?

No sorry, but as our Campers all have brand new interiors; we would like to try to keep them this way as long as possible. Plus, it can get very hot so would not be a practical place to keep a pet.

Can I smoke in the camper?

No, smoking is strictly prohibited by law in France in rented vehicles.

How do I book?

Visit our comprehensive booking system to create your tailor made holiday. This allows you to get a quote and pre-book your selected dates. We will verify the Camper’s availability and contact you for final confirmation of the booking. A deposit of €300 per week is payable within 48 hours to secure the booking.
